Rustam Minnikhanov visits the Corporation of the development of Malaysian Halal industry in Kuala-Lumpur

On 13 August at their meeting at the Corporation of the development of Malaysian Halal industry in Kuala-Lumpur, the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working trip to Malaysia, and representatives of the Corporation administration discussed important issues of Halal industry and exchanged their point of view.

The Corporation if the federal governmental agency and the chief coordinator of the Halal system in the country, and Rustam Minnikhanov was told about principles of its work. In particular, the Corporation develops and implements various adaptive programmes concerning demands of various businesses starting from SMEs and up to large multi-national corporations.

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov stated that he really is happy to come to Malaysia. “Russia-Malaysia contacts at the highest level have a regular character. Malaysia is a reliable partner of Russia, We are grateful to the leadership of two countries for having created favourable conditions for expanding interregional cooperation and interaction,” he said.

In its turn Tatarstan at its level is ready to promote the development of business connections, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized and reminded that he is the Head of the Strategic Vision Group of Russia-the Islamic World, which was established by an errand from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“This visit is significant for us for expanding contacts,” he said and also stated that the annual International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum” held in Kazan is also aimed at interaction with Islamic world countries.

“Today Halal is the complete ecosystem which includes not just food products but also other spheres as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, hospitality and tourist industry and Islamic banking,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and added: “We do not lag behind world trends in this sphere. Halal means safety and human health benefits no matter what your religion is.”

He also reminded about an experiment in implementation and use of Islamic banking tools going on in a number of regions of Russia and concluded: “There are many spheres and in these issues Malaysia is a certain example which is interesting for us.”

In the end of his visit Rustam Minnikhanov wrote an entry in the Corporation Visitors’ Book.
