Rais of Tatarstan meets delegation from the UAE

On 26 July in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat of the UAE Omar Habtoor Al Darei and Khalif Mubarak Al-Zahiri, who is the Rector of the Mohammed bin Zayed University of Humanities, who came to Kazan to take part in the V International Scientific-Theological Conference “The Spiritual Silk Way” held with participation of representatives of 22 foreign countries.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked his guests for having come to the republic and participation in such an important event. “Russia and the United Arab Emirates are good and close partners united by common vision of solving acute international problems. Tatarstan does its best to make its contribution into the development of Russia-Emirates relations,” he emphasized. 

The Rais of Tatarstan stated that the republic attaches great attention to the interaction with the Islamic world and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He informed that since 2014 he in the Head of the Strategic Vision Group: Russia-the Islamic World and Tatarstan is the pilot region for introduction of Islamic banking and financing principles in Russia. The republic also carries out active work in developing the Halal industry.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the UAE are one of the most attractive partners for developing economic and humanitarian relations. “We are interested in further strengthening the mutually beneficial cooperation with your country. I wish you successful work in Kazan,” he concluded.
