On 16 July the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working trip to Turkey, had a meeting with representatives of business circles of Turkey in the representative office of Tatarstan in Istanbul.
Heads of such large holdings as the Anadolu Group, the Koruma, the Şişecam, the Hayat, the Coşkunöz, the Koluman and the EKS Plywood Kontrplak as well as the administration of the Turkish-Russian Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey , the Turkish Machine Manufacturers Association and the Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Varank represented the Turkish side, and welcoming them Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized the importance of regular contacts with partners for strengthening and expanding economic ties.
“Tatarstan endeavors to be an efficient link between our states. Turkey is one of its leading foreign partners,” he stated.
“Last year our trade turnover made nearly 2.9bn US dollars, having demonstrated an impressive growth by nearly 2.5 times. Turkish companies, representatives of some of which are taking part in this meeting, have invested about 2 bn dollars into our republic,” the Rais of Tatarstan continued.
He thanked CEOs of the companies for their reliability and efficient cooperation and assured that the republic will continue supporting such interaction.
The parties also discussed projects being implemented in Tatarstan together with Turkish partners and prospects of expanding the cooperation.
