Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan athletes have shown high professional skills at the Games of BRICS countries

On 24 June, speaking at a ceremony of commending Tatarstan athletes and their coaches, winners of the BRICS Games, held in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated them with their successful participation in competitions.

“Despite the current geopolitical situation in the world you continue persistent training. At the BRICS Games you have demonstrated high sports skills, determination and unbending belief in the victory,” he said. 

He emphasized that 38 gold medals won by Tatarstan athletes have made a descent contribution into the common collection of Russia which confidently took the first place in the team rating. 

“By your demonstration at the international competitions with participation of 82 countries of the world you once again proved that Tatarstan has deservedly been acknowledged the most sports regions and Kazan – the sports capital of Russia,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and expressed special words of thanks to the athletes near and dear ones. 

In the end of the meeting the Rais of the republic handed in the medals “100 years of the Establishment of TASSR” to 32 athletes and coaches and the Master Gymnast of Russia Daniel Marinov thanked for the attention attached by the republic to the development of sports and passed Rustam Minnikhanov memorial medals of the BRICS Games.
