On June 14, speaking at a regular meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of the regional First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin and all municipalities of the republic taking part in it via videoconference, Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov reported on the progress of forage conservation.
The Minister said that there are 353,000 hectares of perennial grasses in the republic, including 23,000 hectares of seed crops, the remaining 330 thousand hectares to be used for feeding purposes. The coming week is a period of extensive work on harvesting perennial grasses.
He also recommended strengthening control over watering and feeding animals on hot days. During this period, highly productive cows consume up to 200 liters of water, which is almost 2 times more than usual. In addition, the Minister of the republic called for ensuring an optimal microclimate in premises for animals.
