The Rais of Tatarstan meets the Governor of the Chinese province of Liaoning on the sidelines of St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF)

On June 6, on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Governor of the Chinese province of Liaoning Li Lecheng.

Liaoning is located in the southern part of Northeast China. The province has developed an integral industrial complex, which includes mechanical engineering, metallurgy, petrochemistry, agriculture, e-power, the coal industry and defense industry enterprises. “In recent years, Russian-Chinese relations have reached an unprecedented level. We all followed the visit of our President Vladimir Putin to China. Tatarstan, as one of the leading and industrialized Russian regions, is actively involved in the development of cooperation between our countries. We can note with satisfaction the annual growth in trade turnover between Tatarstan and China. At the end of last year, it doubled and exceeded 3 billion dollars,” Minnikhanov emphasized.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that last year Kazan hosted a major business forum ROSTKI aimed at expanding business contacts with China with the participation of official and business circles of both countries. The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan emphasized that this year he expects the presence of a large delegation of Liaoning business circles. Li Lecheng said that his visit to the forum aimed at developing relations between the regions of the two countries under the policies determined by the presidents of the two countries.
