Rustam Minnikhanov meets participants of the federal programme “School of Mayors”

On May 28, Kazan hosted the module of the federal programme «School of Mayors» aimed at developing the municipal personnel management reserve and implemented by the Higher School of Public Administration of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) together with the Administration of Russian President, where the lectures by representatives of Tatarstan Government, ministries and departments, as well as practical classes, master classes and dialogues to be held.

Welcoming the participants of the module, the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov briefed about the region and its economy and emphasized that the basis of the economy is oil production and oil refining, identified a number of key industrial enterprises and also spoke about the development of infrastructure for small and medium-sized businesses.

He also informed about the implementation of the construction programme, “Our Yard” programme anda number of other regional programmes.

First Deputy Head of the Administration of the Rais of Tatarstan - Head of the Administration of the Department for work with territories under the Rais of the republic Ilnur Garipov gave a lecture on the issue of administrative and territorial organization, implementation of regional programmes, work of local self-government bodies of Tatarstan under the module «Economic activity and development of territories», where he noted the special role of municipalities as the level of government closest to residents.
