Rustam Minnikhanov at the Karavon Fest: This is example of how carefully we should treat our traditions, national culture and crafts

On 26 May, welcoming participants and guests of the Karavon Public Holiday in the Settlement of Nikolskoye in Laishevo region of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov  thanked all guests, participants and organizers of the event and said: “ The Russian public holiday of Karavon becomes more and more attractive with every year. This is traditions, spirit and our country.”

The fest gathered more than 200 creative teams from Tatarstan and all regions of Russia and the Rais of the republic stated that the fest is a good of how carefully we should treat our traditions, national culture and crafts. He reminded that it is planned to establish Crafts Center in Kazan and first of all this site should be accessible for those who are doing arts and crafts.

Rustam Minnikhanov also emphasized that there are numerous sites for recreation and activities of children at the fest. “I like that children are involved in activities of all sites. This has transformed the fest. Thank you!” he said.

In his turn the Head of Laishevo region Ildus Zaripov said:” It is due do people who are dedicated to their traditions that all this has been preserved on the site of the Settlement of Nikolskoye,” and thanked the republic for allocating money on the fest organization every year.

In the end Rustam Minnikhanov handed in a number of state awards to those who have made a great contribution into the development of Russian traditional culture in the republic.
