Rustam Minnikhanov at a ceremony of commending “Syntez”: Young water-polo players those to model themselves after

On 25 May in the Kazan Kremlin, speaking at a ceremony of commending the Syntez sports club, which won the Russian Cup and Russian Water Polo Championship in 2023-2024, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated athletes with the Syntez 50th birthday and remarkable results of the season.

“During the whole season you have been demonstrating high level of sports skills, team spirit and faith in victory. The fact that the team completely consists of Russia athletes is especially important for us. Many of them are trainees of Tatarstan water polo school and members of the Russian team,” he said and emphasized that the fifth title of Russian champions and winners of the Cup is the result of persistent and team work of the whole staff, including athletes, coaches, the club administration and the Tatarstan Water Polo Federation.

After having thanked the team sponsors and fans with victories, Rustam Minnikhanov said he is sure that the team will continue making residents of the republic happy with their achievements and a descent presentation of the republic at sports arenas.

He handed in a number of state awards to athletes and the club staff and received a memorial cup and a ball as a present. 

In his turn the President of the Syntez sports club Irek Zinnurov thanked the administration of Tatarstan for comprehensive support given to sports in the republic and big attention placed on the development of water polo.
