Rais of Tatarstan: Tatarstan actively facilitate strengthening of Russia-Emirates relations

On 17 May, speaking at his meeting with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy of the UAE Abdullah Al Saleh on the sidelines of the XV KazanForum, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that at its level the republic actively facilitates strengthening of Russia-Emirates relations by organizing reciprocal visits of delegations and Tatarstan representatives taking regular part in the Dubai Investments Forum and the International Exhibition in Abu-Dhabi. “We always feel personal attention and support of developing our cooperation given by the President of the UAE, the Ruler of the Abu-Dhabi Emirate His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “he said. 

The Rais of Tatarstan emphasized that the UAE are one of the most attractive partners for developing economic contacts. A number of enterprises of the republic actively work with the Emirates and there are regular direct flights. There is cooperation in the spheres of education, Islamic financing, Halal industry, cultural exchange, tourism and sports , he said.

Since 2024 the UAE have become an official member of BRICS and Rustam Minnikhanov stated that in the current year Kazan will host large events including the BRICS Games and the Summit. “There is a proposal to prepare concrete projects aimed at expansion of business and humanitarian cooperation by the BRICS Summit. We can organize a joint working group and consider the most promising options, “he added. 

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy of the UAE informed that a large representative delegation of the Emirates has arrived to the KazanForum. “We have been participating in the Forum since its beginning and can see how its scale has grown,” he said. 

Abdullah Al Saleh highly appreciated the personal contribution of the Rais of Tatarstan into strengthening the cooperation between Russia and the UAE and supported his proposal to organize a joint working group.
