Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a meeting of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin with the First Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyzstan Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev

On 15 May on the sidelines of the XV KazanForum the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin with the First Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyzstan Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev, where the participants of the meeting discussed issues of further cooperation in a number of spheres and the expansion of contacts in economy, science and culture.

Opening the meeting, Marat Khusnullin stated that Kyrgyzstan is one of the strategic partners of Russia and it is very pleasant that their trade turnover is tending to grow. He said that especially promising is their cooperation in the sphere of transport. ”We are attaching great attention to the project of the North-South transport corridor,” he said and emphasized that Russia is ready to continue developing mutually beneficial ties with Kyrgyzstan.

In his turn Adylbek Kasymaliev thanked for a warm welcome in Kazan and the high level of organizing the visit of a delegation from his country to the International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum’. He also said: “We had an opportunity to visit a number of Tatarstan enterprises,” and added that Kyrgyzstan is interested in development of partnership relations.

Rustam Minnikhanov also expressed his gratitude to Adylbek Kasymaliev for taking part in the KazanForum and reminded that in February of the current year Tatarstan welcomed the Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov, who took part in an opening ceremony of the Games of the Future.

He also thanked for opening the General Consulate of Kyrgyzstan in Kazan and ensured that the country is one of important strategic and trade and economic partners of Tatarstan, with their mutual trade turnover having exceeded 170m SU dollars last year.

“We have a great potential for developing our relations and not only in trade and economic sphere but also in training specialists, science and culture,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and maned petrochemical, machine-building, helicopter, automotive, IT, pharmaceutical and other branches as priority spheres for joint work.

The Rais of Tatarstan assured his Kyrgyz colleague that the republic is ready to support all projects and beginnings in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and added that Tatarstan is ready to share its experience gained in various spheres.
