On 15 May in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the National Leader of Turkmen people, the Chairman of People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow , who arrived to Kazan during his visit to Russia to take part in the International Economic Forum and be the Guest of Honor at a meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic World.”
Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked his guest for having accepted the invitation and coming to Kazan as the Head of the Turkmenistan delegation
He said that there are more than 20m Muslims living in Russia and the KazanForum is the platform which the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty has not once supported by his personal participation.
“By your participation in the KazanForum and in the Strategic Vision Group you send a very good signal to the world community,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and expressed his deep gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow for support and special attention attached to the development of cooperation with Tatarstan aimed at strengthening relations between countries.
“Relations between Russia and Turkmenistan are very important for us, they are very constructive and Tatarstan also makes its contribution. Today Turkmenistan is a progressive flourishing country where much has been done during your work and your good traditions are going on,” he concluded.
In his turn Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for a warm welcome of the Turkmen delegation and said he was sure that the KazanForum will give positive results to all its participants.
“I would like to thank for the opportunity to take part in this large scale forum.
