Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev lay flowers to the Eternal Flame in the Victory Park

On 9 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev accompanied by the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and representatives of a number of youth organizations attended the Victory Park in Kazan and laid flowers to the Eternal Flame by the Memorial of Glory. 

After having looked round military machinery where a legendary hero-tank-man Rasim Barsikov told about design features and advantages of tanks displayed in the Victory Park, the participants of the ceremony laid flowers to the Monument of Widows and Mothers of the Fallen and to the Monument of the Soviet Soldier. 

After talking to Navy veterans by the K-403 submarine cockpit, Rustam Minnikhanov together with Mintimer Shaimiev went by the Chayka retro-car to take part in a parade of the Kazan Garrison on the occasion of the Victory Day. The car was decorated by a photo of the uncle of the Rais – Galimzyan Minnikhanov who died in action on 15 December 1941 at the age of 19 years.
