Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food: The sowing campaign has started in all regions of the republic

On May 6, speaking at a briefing held in the Government House of Tatarstan and dedicated to the issues of holding the sowing campaign in the republic, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic-Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Marat Zyabbarov said that in the current year the sowing area will be 2.7 million hectares, which is at the level of last year, including 1.8 million hectares allocated for spring sowing.

About 935,000 hectares are spring grain crops, 502 thousand hectares are technical crops and 694 thousand hectares are feed. Warm April favorably influenced on the condition of winter crops.

The Minister emphasized that the field work is carried out in full force in all areas. Fertilization of winter crops and perennial grasses was carried out on an area of 769 thousand hectares, which makes 87 per cent of the plan.

The supply of grain and leguminous seeds makes 136 per cent.

As for the financial part, Tatarstan Minister said that last year 76.1 billion roubles were allocated for the production of crop products, thus 79 billion rubles are already needed this year, including 38.8 billion roubles, which will be allocated for spring field work.

At the end of the briefing, Zyabbarov summed up the results of the past spring agricultural fairs.
