Rustam Minnikhanov meets Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow

On 28 April, speaking at his meeting with Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow in Ashgabat, where he came to take part in the national holiday the Day of the Akhal-Teke racer, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “The leading Tatarstan companies have been successfully working in Turkmenistan for many years. Last year our trade turnover grew by 13 per cent and made 52m US dollars.”

He stated that there is a substantial potential for developing relations in such spheres as oil production, gas transportation, car and ship building, power industry and agribusiness 

They separately discussed cultural cooperation and mentioned the Day of Culture of Tatarstan held in Turkmenistan and the International National Cultures Festival held in Kazan last year. “In the current year we are expecting to hold the Days of Turkmenistan Culture in our republic,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. 

The parties also stated the importance of sharing the experience in particular that of Turkmenistan craftsmen in preservation of cultural heritage and reached an agreement on joint work of Spiritual Muslims Boards.
