Rustam Minnikhanov: It is in works of Gabdulla Tukay that the role of mother tongue is shown as a treasury of spiritual beauty and cultural richness

In his address on the occasion of celebrations of the Day of the Native Language and 138th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Tatarstan residents with the event and said: “It is in works of Gabdulla Tukay that the role of mother tongue is shown as a keeper of emotional warmth of the near and dear ones and a treasury of spiritual beauty and cultural richness binding many generations.

Spiritual and moral values traditional for our people are the basis which helps us to overcome any most difficult situations. They are also a foundation for our stable development and new achievements. Their expression in a word has been manifested most brightly in works of Gabdulla Tukay.

Poetry and prose of the prodigy of Tatar literature is filled with love to the Motherland, they celebrate labour, courage, sincerity and being honest to oneself and people. Gabdulla Tukay shows zero tolerance to human evils, idleness and egoism. It is why his works are timeless. Beauty of his style and the depth of his thoughts put Tukay up there with geniuses of the world literature.  

Up today Tukay is a personification of originality of Tatar culture and brotherly unity with unique cultures of other people.

May lines from Tukay masterpieces have a response in our hearts, inspire for good deeds, new achievement and give emotional warmth to everyone.”
