On 24 April, speaking at a briefing in the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, the Chairman of the Regional Committee on protection of Cultural Heritage Sites Ivan Guschin informed that in 2024 the Committee initiated historical and cultural expertise of nearly 100 sites and 20 archeological monuments to take them under state protection.
“Compared to the last year we have 26 sites more including 13 earlier unknown archeological monuments,” he said.
“This year we will also organize work to exclude those sites, which were lost in post-Soviet time and are not eligible for reconstruction, from the federal register. First of all this is relevant to Kazan,” Ivan Guschin concluded and reminded that currently there are 2 825 sites under protection and 3 583 revealed in Tatarstan, including 804 architectural and historical sites and 2 779 archeological ones.
