Rais of Tatarstan: We highly appreciate an opportunity of expanding interaction with Uzbekistan

On 22 April, speaking at a plenary session of the “INNOPROM. Central Asia” forum held with participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Denis Manturov and Uzbekistan Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev in Tashkent, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said:” We highly appreciate an opportunity of expanding interaction with Uzbekistan within the friendly relations between our countries.” He emphasized that this was a special merit of Presidents of both countries. 

Tatarstan makes it contribution in strengthening the inter-state ties. Last year in October the Forum of Inter-regional Cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan was organized in Kazan. “According to the results of last year Tatarstan-Uzbekistan trade turnover has increased by 27% and exceeded 370m dollars,” he emphasized.

The growth of economic indexes became possible to the development of ties between Tatarstan and a number of Uzbekistan regions and to cooperation of leading companies of the republic and organizations. Rais of Tatarstan named as an example the key large projects being implemented in Uzbekistan together with the republic, such as the chemical industrial technical park Chirchik, the branch of Kazan Federal University in Jizzakh and the Jizzakh technical park. Currently the work is under way in establishment of industrial sites in Bukhara and Navoi regions, he concluded.
