On April 19, at the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the President of the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Burak Dağlıoğlu.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Turkey, aimed at strengthening friendly Russian-Turkish relations. “Cooperation between Tatarstan and Turkey has a long history. Mutual visits of delegations are carried out, trade, economic and humanitarian relations are developing. Regular flights contribute to the development of our contacts,” the Rais of Tatarstan said. He emphasized that Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. Last year, trade turnover increased significantly and amounted to 2.9 billion US dollars. In addition, Turkish companies are the largest investors: companies from this country invested 2.5 billion US dollars in the republic’s economy. Such plants as Kastamonu Entegre, “ Hayat Kimya", "Sisecam" - "Trakya Glass", "Sisecam” – “Automotive Glass", "Coskunoz", "SMC Alabuga", "Koluman", "Tirsan Kardan". Turkish investors are also implementing projects in a number of other areas: hotel business, construction and other areas.
Burak Dağlıoğlu emphasized that Turkey and Tatarstan have truly fraternal relations. “All necessary conditions have been created in your republic for potential investors. There are many areas for our cooperation, we should work even more actively. We see great potential in agriculture. We have more developed greenhouse complexes due to climatic characteristics. We would be happy to develop joint projects with local farmers. There is also interest in interaction in technology and innovation», - the head of the Turkish delegation said.
During his working visit to Tatarstan, Burak Dağlıoğlu visited the production venues of Turkish residents in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, had a meeting with employees of the Turkish Consulate General in Kazan, and also got acquainted with the investment potential of Tatarstan at the Unified Presentation Centre.
