A meeting of the Organizational Committee for preparation and holding the XV International Economic Forum “Russia -the Islamic World: KazanForum” held in Moscow

On 16 April, speaking at a meeting of the Organizational Committee for preparation and holding the XV International Economic Forum “Russia -the Islamic World: KazanForum” held by the Committee Chairman, Deputy Head of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin in Moscow, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that for the past 15 years the KazanForum has proved itself to be a reliable platform for interaction with Islamic countries

The Forum will take place in Kazan on 14-19 May of the current year and Rustam Minnikhanov said: “As many as 54 countries have already confirmed their participation and we are expecting more than 16 thousand guests.  During my international visits we discussed issues of interaction within the Strategic Vision Group of Russia-The Islamic world. The Forum stirs great interest from our international partners. The business programme of the Forum is quite intensive”.

As the Chairman of the Strategic Vision Group, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the Forum programme includes 124 Group sessions in burning issues such as investments, Islamic finances, culture, sports, science, tourism, international policy and others.

In his turn Marat Khusnullin informed:” Russia thinks Muslim countries to be reliable partners. Today the trade turnover between the Russian Federation and the Islamic world countries has increased by 37 per cent and made 156bn US dollars”.

“The last forum was held at the high level. I thank the administration of Tatarstan and Rustam Minnikhanov. I am sure that this year too all events will be held at a very high level”, he emphasized.
