On 13 April in his congratulations of residents of Tatarstan with the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin wrote:
“This is the day of dedicated people who give help to all those who need it.
In our country charity has become a mighty resource of developing the civic society providing additional reserve for the pursued social policy and helping to work out mechanisms of interaction of all sectors and layers of the society in solving socially important issues.
Kindness, generosity and large heart of these people have always been a pillar of support in difficult periods of history and in peaceful times they support the work for the good of the country and development of science, educations and art.
Currently this mission is fulfilled by people of a wide variety of vocations, ages and viewpoints, who carry out public activities for free, contributing their soul into providing free support.
For us it is especially important that to be a benefactor today does not necessarily mean to have large financial resources. It is sufficient to do what the word means – to do good deeds as much as possible.”
In conclusion he thanked all philanthropists, benefactors and volunteers for their kindness, feeling the pain of other people and readiness to help those who have found themselves in a difficult situation and wished them good health, big happiness, success and family prosperity.
