On 9 April, speaking at his meeting with a delegation of the Association of Russian and Turkish Entrepreneurs in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in Turkish business continuing the development of its projects in the region and using the republic as a platform for entering Russian and Eurasian markets.
The delegation headed by the Association Board Chairman Erdem Adjay arrived on a working trip to Kazan to get acquainted with the investments climate of the region and establish new contacts.
Welcoming participants of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “I am sincerely happy to welcome guests from Turkey on the eve of the Eid al-Fitr and use this chance to congratulate you with it. We have long-established contacts with the majority of you as you are fruitfully working with our republic. Of course we attach great attention to the development of trade-economic and investments cooperation between Turkey and Tatarstan as all this serves to strengthening of relations between our states – Russia and Turkey.”
He stated that the republic strives to be an efficient link between our countries and reminded about official visits of the Turkish President, Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Turkish Parliament to Tatarstan as well as delegations from the republic visiting Ankara and Antalya.
Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned the cooperation on agreement working between Turkey and Tatarstan, the Consulate General of Turkey in Kazan and the Representative Office of Tatarstan in Istanbul and 19 agreements on twin-cities signed between municipalities of both countries.
He also said that regular flights between Tatarstan and Tukey have their positive influence and added: “Every year there are more and more flights making it possible not only for tourists but also for business to move quickly and promptly solve their issues.
“Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners for Tatarstan with our trade turnover having made nearly 3bn US dollars last year, showing the high growth compared to 2022. We are grateful to the Turkish business which invested about 2bn US dollars into the republic,” the Rais of Tatarstan said.
He reminded that such companies as Kastamonu Entegre, Hayat Kimya, Şişecam - Trakya Glass, Şişecam – Automotive Glass, Coskunoz Holding, the joint project of Coskunoz and the MMK “SMC Alabuga” and Anadolu Efes are actively working in the region.
“We are grateful to the Turkish Company Polymex which has built a remarkable world level hotel complex “Kazan Palace” in Kazan,“ he said and added: “I am sure there should be more of such projects and today’s meeting will become a starting point for our new contacts and projects.”
During its stay in Kazan and Tatarstan the delegation will have a number of meetings and round tables with the regional Chamber of Commerce, visit the United Presentation Center of Tatarstan and will have meetings in the regional Agency of Investments Development.
