Rustam Minnikhanov: Development of power economy and raising the energy efficiency is one of the priority tasks for Tatarstan

On 3 April the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Snikkars, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mikhail Ivanov,  Deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus Denis Moroz, Kyrgyzstan Deputy Minister of Energy Talaibek Baigaziev and Uzbekistan First Deputy Minister of Energy - Director of the Nuclear Energy Development Agency (Uzatom) Azim Akhmedkhadjaev took part in a solemn ceremony of opening the Tatarstan International Forum in Power Economy and Energy Efficiency which began today at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov stated that for 25 years the forum in Kazan has proved itself as an efficient platform where the energy community of Russia and a number of foreign countries discuss most burning issues of development of power economy and raising energy efficiency and demonstrate modern energy-efficient technologies. 

He emphasized that the development of power economy and raising the energy efficiency is one of the priority tasks for Tatarstan. “The republic is carrying out active work in production modernization by introducing modern technologies and equipment and is implementing projects in expanding the use of gas engine fuel and development of energy charging infrastructure. We are ready to share our gained experience and are open for a dialogue and joint work in this sphere. I am sure the forum will be an efficient tool for continuation of  a mutually beneficial cooperation, establishment of new business contacts and joining efforts for successful implementation of the planned projects,” the Rais of the republic said.  

Then a ceremony of launching two NGV filling stations and two LNG fuel stations in Yelabuga, Menzelinsk, Pestretsy and Laishevo regions of the republic was held via videoconference. The total capacity of two NGV filling stations is 11.9m cubic meters and of two LNG fuel stations 105.7m cubic meters a year, thus making the total project capacity of the NGV filling stations in the republic reaching 410m cubic meters of LNG a year.

After the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov and other guests went round a specialized exposition where more than 80 leading energy companies from 17 regions of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan demonstrated their developments and companies. The participants of the forum will also take part in a number of conferences and round tables.

After the opening of the Forum, in presence of Rustam Minnikhanov, Kazan State Power engineering University signed an agreement with the KAMA Company on launching the first in Russia lab for testing charging stations and electric cars and confirmed its intention to intensify its cooperation with Gomel State Technical University after P. Sukhoy (Belarus).
