Rustam Minnikhanov meets Hokim of the Surxondaryo region Ulugbek Qosimov

On 27 March, speaking at his meeting with the Hokim of the Surxondaryo region Ulugbek Qosimov during his working trip to Uzbekistan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the administration of the region for a warm welcome given to the Tatarstan delegation and congratulated him with the Holy month of Ramadan. 

The Rais of the republic informed his interlocutor that according to results of last year the Tatarstan-Uzbekistan trade turnover grew by 27 per cent and reached 370m US dollars. A number of enterprises of the republic have an active cooperation with their Uzbek partners, he said and added that Tatarstan is open for investments and is the Russian market entry point for foreign companies. 

The parties also touched upon the topic of deliveries of Tatarstan manufacturers produce and the use of opportunities of the free trade zone of Ayritom.  Rustam Minnikhanov gave an errand to organize a delegation from enterprises in the nearest weeks to study the potential of this sphere and to develop a road map by the results of this study. 

The Rais of Tatarstan expressed his special thanks for supporting the Tatar community as currently there are 7 thousand Tatars living in the Surxondaryo region. 

In his turn Ulugbek Qosimov emphasized: “I am sure that this meeting will facilitate further development of relations. We are ready to consider any options for cooperation.”
