On 16 March, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held via video conference with all regions of the republic with the regional prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin taking part in it, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that the process of Presidential Elections in Tatarstan goes on according to the plan and in a relaxed atmosphere.

“It is the second day of the Presidential Election. We have summarized results this morning and see that the election process goes on as planned and quietly. The most important is that Tatarstan residents are taking an active part in it. Yesterday the voting per cent was 37.7 which is very good,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

He also empathized that it is necessary to ensure security at polling stations and the situation should be under personal control of the Tatarstan Central Election Committee and heads of municipalities. “The most important is to provide all necessary conditions for voters,” he said.

Having reminded that on the coming Monday the country will celebrate the 10th anniversary of reunification of the Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov said: ”It is a great event. Today Tatarstan has close business relations established with the Crimea and Sevastopol. We also develop humanitarian and cultural contacts and are in constant touch with our assisted Bakhchisaray region,” and in conclusion congratulated everyone with the coming event.
