On 10 March the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Aid to the Russian President Igor Levitin, who is also the First Vice-President of the Russian Olympics Committee and the Head of Saby region Rais Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of closing the international tennis table competitions and XXII open personal-team regional tennis table competitions held from 7 to 10 March in the settlement of Bogatyye Saby in Tatarstan..
The competitions have been held for 22 years on the row and this year 278 strongest athletes from Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan and China took part in them.
Speaking at the ceremony Rustam Minnikhanov thanked athletes for having taken part in the tournament and organizers for having held the competitions at the high level. “We have been holding this competition for 22 years and hope we will continue this good tradition and meet you next year,” he said.
In his turn Igor Levitin said: “I am happy to welcome you at the annual tournament which has got an international status. I would like to thank all athletes. We will continue doing everything to have more and more competitions. In summer Kazan is hosting the BRICS games, four sets of medal of which will be in table tennis.”
Having handed awards to winners of the tournament, Rustam Minnikhanov and Igor Levitin went to the Leskhoz settlement where they laid flowers to the monument of the Honorary Forestry Specialists of TASSR and RSFSR and the holder of orders of “Badge of Honor” and of “October Revolution” Nurgali Minnikhanov.
