Rustam Minnikhanov gives an errand to organize necessary anti-flood measures in the republic

On 9 March, speaking about organizing flood prevention measures at a meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the big amount of precipitation and snow create a flooding hazard because of the rising air temperature in the nearest future.

“Municipalities together with the Emergencies Ministry must organize all anti-flood measures and in case of need should give a quick response to unseen situations,” he said. 

He asked to pay special attention to road infrastructure facilities, bridges and hydraulic structures and ensure safety in settlements and low-storey housing neighbourhoods. 

”It is important to provide readiness of technique and human resources for prevention and liquidation of high water consequences and if needed to organize temporary accommodation centers for people from flooded areas,” the Rais of Tatarstan added.
