Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a ceremony of introducing new Internal Minister of Tatarstan Damir Satretdinov to the team of the Ministry

On 6 March the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of introducing the new Internal Minister of Tatarstan Police Major-General Damir Satretdinov to the team of the Ministry held at the main building of the Ministry for the republic with the Russian Internal Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev taking part in it via videoconference.

After having mentioned various positions occupied by Damir Satretdinov in the internal affairs bodies since 1994, Rustam Minnikhanov said he is sure that at the position of the Internal Minister of the republic, the new Minister will preserve the work of the body at a high level, give new impetus to its activities and provide well-coordinated work of the team.

“During last years the criminal situation in Tatarstan remains stable mostly due to high professionalism, hard work and dedication of the police,” he said and reminded that last two weeks the staff of the Ministry ensured safety during the International Tournament “The Games of the Future” and thanked them for good work and being responsible.

Having said about coming Russian Presidential Election and elections of members of the State Council of the republic to be held in September, Rustam Minnikhanov also reminded about a number of international events to be held in the republic in 2024, such as the summit of the head of BRICS countries and the BRICS Games to be held in Kazan in October and June accordingly.

The republic has always provided financial and material support to the Internal Ministry, Rustam Minnikhanov said and informed that 179 facilities for community policeman have been commissioned and work of 129 community police offices and 194 police support points have been ensured during recent years. He also told about The Safe City system which includes more than 100 thousand cameras and support given to policemen for improvement of their accommodation, providing company cars and so on and capital overhaul and building new administrative facilities at the expense of the regional budget

Speaking about the previous Minister, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We highly appreciate large amount and high quality of work done by the team of the Ministry run by Artyom Khokhorin for 12 years”.

“The internal power bodies always enjoy support of the majority of population of the republic who believe in them as a guarantor of Tatarstan security,” he emphasized.
