Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev visit the renovated museum the Laishevsky region named after Gavriil Derzhavin

On February 26, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov together with the Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and accompanied by the Aide of the Rais of Tatarstan Olesya Baltusova, Tatarstan Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the renovated museum of the Laishevsky region named after Gavriil Derzhavin.

The museum was founded in 1968 and it changed its location more than once. In 2017, during the walk around the historical center of Laishevo Rustam Minnikhanov instructed to hand over the building of the former progymnasia (1864) with a total area of more than 1 thousand square meters to the museum.

In 2022, under of the national project «Culture», a large-scale reconstruction started in the museum. The works were completed a year later to the 280th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet and outstanding statesman Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin - a native of Laishevsky region of the republic. In addition to the repair works, the museum renovated the exhibition, purchased stock equipment, multimedia equipment and bought projectors, screens and necessary furniture.

The museum is actively introducing event tourism. Guests get acquainted with the traditions of the peoples of the Laishevsky region and participate in various master classes.
