Russian President Vladimir Putin has a meeting with Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov

On 22 February, speaking at his meeting with the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov during his working trip to Kazan, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the high level of the organization of the multi-sports tournament “The Games of the Future. “I want to thank you for your help in organizing yesterday’s event. All is done at a very high level – as usually Tatarstan does, you know how to do it. Nevertheless this event is not just of a regional and even national but of international level. And everything is very descent – appropriate for Tatarstan and appropriate for Russia,” he emphasized.

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov thanked for the opportunity for organizing such a hallmark event in Tatarstan. “Vladimir Vladimirovich. Thank you for you trusting us to hold such an event in our republic,” he said.

The Rais of the republic told about actions related to the special military operation (SMO) such as supporting military units, participants of the SMO and their families, taking care of families of the fallen in action and work with the aided territories. “We work everywhere, doing large work in humanitarian goods as out enterprises, business and residents are taking an active part in this,” he said.

Reporting the Russian President about main social and economic results of the republic last year, Rustam Minnikhanov informed that the GRP made 4.1 trillion rubles, the amount of industrial produce – more than 4.7 trillion. Despite the drought, farmers harvested 3.6m tonnes of grain and investments into the main assets exceeded 1 trillion rubles, showing the growth of 111 per cent. Tatarstan produces more than 35 m tonnes of oil, 23.7m of which is refined inside the republic. “Economy develops and the foreign trade turnover made 14bn dollars,” the Rais of Tatarstan emphasized.

He also told about the growth of construction work, which reached 708 bn rubles last year, implementation of the capital overhaul programme and achievements of large enterprises and development of industrial and special economic zones of the republic.

President of Russia expressed his interest in the Alabuga Politech educational project being implemented by the Special Economic Zone of Alabuga and said: “It is a very good example and a very essential sphere.”

Rustam Minnikhanov informed Vladimir Putin that currently the center trains 2 500 students and the plan is to increase their number up to 25 thousand. “The most important is that they have dual education. Students work during the day earning money and study in the evenings. They are very much interested in such studies and they have good accommodation and advanced education facilities. The center provides educational programs in robotics, electrical engineering, mechatronics and other fields – vocations that are in big demand today,” he said and told about plans of cooperation with Tajikistan.

The Rais of Tatarstan thanked the administration of the country for supporting the road construction and told about a number of large projects under implementation in the republic such as opening of the M-12 highway, construction of the M-7 which will be the 1-st category road in Tatarstan and the 145 km of Alekseevskoye-Almetyevsk highway which will be completed by the end of the current year.
