Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka

On 21 February in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the President of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka who arrived to Kazan to take part in the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future.

The President of Belarus made an entry in the distinguished visitors’ book and gave Rustam Minnikhanov a gold pen “to use it when singing the best solutions”.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked his guest for answering the invitation to visit the republic and to take part in the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future. He reminded that the tournament will unite participants from all over the world, including clubs from BRICS countries, which are acknowledged leaders not only in high tech sphere but also in the international cyber-sports community.

“We highly appreciate an opportunity to expand interaction with Belarus within the framework of friendly Russia-Belarus relations. Together with the President of our country Vladimir Putin you actively support development of relations between our countries at regional level,” he said.

The Rais of Tatarstan reminded that he visited Belarus in April last year and thanked Alyaksandr Lukashenka for a fruitful meeting and a well-organized business programme.

“We have a good chance to discuss the current state of Tatarstan-Belarus cooperation, set up promising spheres of joint work. Under Western sanctions pressure it is important to expand economic cooperation in all spheres,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

He emphasized that Belarus is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan, there is an acting agreement on cooperation and signed plans of action and agreements between ministries, municipal Chambers of Commerce, Academies of Sciences and enterprises.
