Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the extension of the project on creating advanced engineering schools until 2030, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said. The total amount of co-financing until 2026 will be about 60 billion roubles. Another 20 more such schools have been selected, which will start operating in the new academic year. Thus, the entire system of advanced engineering schools will cover 50 universities in 23 Russian regions.
State funding is also increasing, and 12.6 billion, which is 2.5 billion more than last year - have been allocated to schools in the first wave this year.
Thus, each advanced engineering school from the first group, which includes the Advanced Engineering Schools of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University among the regional schools, was allocated 634.5 million roubles for 2024, while in 2023, 514 million roubles were allocated to four engineering schools.
Advanced engineering schools of the second group, which include AES of University of Innopolis and Kazan National Research Technological University, were allocated 427.7 million roubles each (last year, 348.2 million roubles were allocated each).
The indicators of advanced engineering schools based on universities are impressive. In 2023, only at the Advanced Engineering Schools of the University of Innopolis, more than 1.6 thousand people were trained in additional professional education programmes, and 235 students were enrolled in higher education programmes. I am glad that the project on creating advanced engineering schools continues,” Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roman Shaykhutdinov said.
