On 10 February the Deputy Head of the Russian Government Dmitriy Chernyshenko, who came on a working trip to Kazan, and the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a number of meeting related to issues of preparations to the coming Games of the Future.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister and the Rais of the republic got acquainted with work of the technological-operational center which will monitor and control all IT systems and technical services during preparation process and the Games and took part in a meeting of the Chief Operational Center of the Games which is the central control unit for monitoring, coordination and information interaction of all processes during preparation and the Games.
After the regional Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov reported about the work of the Center In detail, the head of all spheres reported about 100 per cent manning in all disciplines and readiness of all sports facilities to hosting fans and guests of the tournament.
Speaking at the meeting, Dmitriy Chernyshenko said:”Very little time is left till the beginning of the tournament – less than 9 days. Huge work has been done for preparation of it, which was organized from a scratch in 1.5 years by an errand from President Vladimir Putin. Now on no occasion can we slow down as out common task is to hold the Games of the Future at the highest level. On 1 February we entered the operational period and the Chief Operational Center has been functioning for 10 days already. Kazan has a rich experience of organizing work of chief sports center with participation of federal power bodies during the FIFA World Cup in 2018”.
He added that the tournament attracts attention of the whole world including non-friendly countries so the Games are going to encounter unprecedented pressure. And this means not only infrastructure but also electricity network control systems, transport, the city, air traffic, trains and hazardous productions, he said.
Foreign delegations and more than 600 representatives of mass media from Russia, China, the UAE, Vietnam, Cuba, Italy, Syria and other countries are planning to visit Kazan from 21 February to 3 March. According to preliminary estimation the number of viewers of the Games at streaming platforms will exceed 3 bn.
