On 10 February the Deputy Head of the Russian Government Dmitriy Chernyshenko, who came on a working trip to Kazan, and the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center and looked round the main competition sites of the coming Games of the Future.
The Kazan Expo will host tournaments in phygital football, basketball, skateboarding and dance and VR simulators as well as the ceremonies of the Games opening and closure.
The guests also got acquainted with the concept of the City of the Games of the Future, which is a modern space in the format of high tech interactive exposition and educational-recreational center for guests and participants of the phygital tours
Speaking to the mass media, Dmitriy Chernyshenko highly assessed readiness of Kazan to hosting the Games of the Future. “I confirm that readiness is at the high level and according to the plans. At the main operational center we participated in team exercises simulating various incidents, made all necessary changes in distribution of human forces and means. Accommodation of guests starts already from 15 February and everything is ready to start the new epoch of phygital sports on 21 February,” he said.
In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the administration of the country for having trusted Kazan to host such a large and important competition. “We have gained rich experience in organizing All-Russia and international events and have a substantial infrastructure. Hosting the first Games of the Future is a great responsibility as we are expecting more than 2 thousand participants from more than 100 countries. All sports and hospitality facilities will be fully ready by 19 February. There is no doubt we will host the first Games of the Future properly,” he concluded.
