On 3 February, speaking at a regional meeting held with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via video conference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that the most important issue in life of cities and regions of the republic is snow removal from roads and inter-block passages and pedestrian zones.
He informed that in the current year there are already 6 674 complaints to the road infrastructure maintenance in the “People’s Control” system, which was twice more than last year.
“It is clear the situation is caused by climatic conditions but people have to use roads and sidewalks. The most important is that only 37 per cent of the complaints have been cleared up. There are many unsolved issues in Kazan, Chelny and Nizhnekamsk,” the Rais of the republic said.
Rustam Minnikhanov also attracted attention to the fact that the temperature change caused the cases of snow and ice falling down from roofs of multi-apartment houses and buildings. “Accumulation of snow on the roofs and icicles are a danger for people. In Kazan there was a case of snow falling from the roof in Botanicheskaya Street. In Kulagina Street snow fell down on a car causing injuries to a driver who was inside it. We understand that snow has not been removed yet and with the warm spell there will be a hazard for buildings and facilities,” he said.
The Rais of the republic specially emphasized that the discussed issues concern big cities as in rural arrears there is even more snow. He gave an errand to ensure all conditions for vital life sustenance in every populated place.
