Rais of Tatarstan takes part in opening a new production of line-haul semitrailers in the SEZ Alabuga

On 31 January accompanied by the Director General of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Alabuga  Timur Shagivaleev, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of launching new plant of manufacturing  line-haul semitrailers “Wagnermaier Russland” in Alabuga. 

The investment project of the plant with the planned capacity of 2 100 units a year presupposes manufacture of three types of line-haul semitrailers – curtainsider, semitrailer trucks and container carriers with increasing the plant capacity to 3 thousand semitrailers a year in the future.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the launch of a new production in Alabuga is a landmark event. He said that as the cargo transportation market is growing, the plant produce will be in demand in our country.

“Our republic produces the largest number of tow-cars and I think that from the very start they will be equipped with modern semitrailers of the world level,” the Rais of the republic said. 

He thanked the investor and stated the special experience of the SEZ Alabuga which today from the very start provides all necessary infrastructure for a quick launch of production. 

The Executive Director of the Wagnermaier Russland Company Rustam Subkhankulov informed that the total investments made 745m rubles, including 500m used for equipment and 245m as operating assets. He also said that the Company has already signed a five-year contract for supplying 9 thousand semitrailers, including orders from Belarus and Kazakhstan. 

It is planned that the new production localization will be 75 per cent and the plant will create new 250 jobs.
