Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a resulting collegium of Tatarstan prosecution

On 29 January the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an expanded meeting of the Tatarstan prosecution, where, greeting the meeting participant, the regional Prosecutor Albert Suyargulov informed that on 27 January a delegation from the prosecutor’s office visited St Petersburg to take part in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of lifting the Leningrad Fascist siege. “The sieged city had a special bond with Tatarstan as enterprises, foster homes and vocational colleges were evacuated from Leningrad to Kazan. Thousands of families and orphans from Leningrad found a new home in Tatarstan.  About 45 thousand out of 100 thousand soldiers from our republic protecting the city of the Neva, died,” he emphasized.

Summarizing results of 2023, Albert Suyargulov said that the positive dynamics can be seen practically in all spheres of prosecution supervision. All delayed construction has been completed and rights on housing and compensations to hoodwinked investors have been restored due to well-coordinated work of prosecutors and power bodies.

The prosecution activities settled more than 650m rubles of salary arrears and solved more than 67 thousand complaints from citizens, which is by 18 per cent more than in 2022, he said.

The regional Prosecutor also informed that timely involvement of prosecutors into arbitrage cases made it possible to stop legalization of more than 270m rubles of illegal revenues.

He also reported about work done by the prosecution for mobilizing tax arrears and private entrepreneurs checks.

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that due to close work of all power bodies the republic managed not just to fulfill all social commitments but also successfully develop all spheres of activity. “I want to thank prosecutors of the republic for their contribution into our common case. As ever before you fulfill all your duties for the good of the society and the state at the high level,” he said.

Having emphasized that under conditions of the special military operation (SMO) Russian President Vladimir Putin has set forth a task of ensuring timely and quality fulfillment of state defense order, the Rais of the republic said that prosecutors should be very diligent in supervising work of defense enterprises and also pay special attention to residents of the republic taking part in the SMO.

Rustam Minnikhanov stressed the important role of the prosecution in enforcement of tax legislation by saying: “Today unconscientious representatives of business are using various schemes trying to evade taxes. With coordinating role of the prosecution, the law enforcement and supervising bodies should continue work aimed at fighting mass registration of “fly-by-night” firms which create conditions for tax evasion,” he emphasized.

The Rais of the republic gave a positive assessment to work of prosecutors in recovering losses inflicted of the state by crimes and disgorged property including land plots.

He specially emphasized issues of moving residents from dilapidated houses and fulfillment of regulations of proper maintenance of communal infrastructure as well as prevention of malversation by competent authorities, local self-government and supervisory bodies.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that fighting corruption is the most important sphere of prosecution work as “corrupt officials undermine authority of power bodies and their illegal actions cause dissatisfaction of Tatarstan residents”.

He also reminded about a number of important events to take place in the current year and concluded: ”Our common task is to hold all events at the high organizational level.”

In the end of the session Rustam Minnikhanov and Albert Suyargulov handed in a number of state awards of the republic and commended winners of the professional excellence competition “The best in profession”.
