On 24 January on the sidelines of the resulting collegium of the Ministry of Healthcare of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with recipients and their families, held with participation of the Aid to the Russian Healthcare Minister Oksana Guseva, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva, the regional Healthcare Minister Marsel Minullin and other officials.
Participants of the meeting discussed issues of development of organ transplant in the country and regions, including Tatarstan, and recipients and their relatives shared the existing problems and stated a number of worrying issues.
Thus it was stated that quite often the transplant is the only way to save life and restore the health and it is important to develop this sphere.
Today Tatarstan carries out operations in transplanting liver, kidneys and heart and bone marrow, and the Regional Clinical Hospital is one of the leaders of Russian medical facilities in transplanting of a kidney from a live relative donor.
In 2021 as many as 71 transplant operations, in 2022 – 137 and in 2023 – 213 were performed in the republic.
