Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food: In 2024, 13.6 billion roubles will be allocated to support the agricultural sector

On January 13, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government house of the republic, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan - regional Minister of Agriculture Marat Zyabbarov informed that in 2023, state support for the agricultural sector of the republic was provided in 78 areas in the amount of 15.1 billion roubles, including 4 billion roubles coming from the federal budget and 11.1 billion roubles from the budget of Tatarstan.

This year, 13.6 billion roubles are allocated for these purposes: 2.8 billion roubles - the federal budget, 10.8 billion roubles - the regional one.

He also informed that the yield of grain was 3.603m tonnes, potatoes – 880 000 tonnes and vegetables – 257 000 tonnes, sugar beet – 1.630m and oil-bearing plants – 448 000 tonnes.

The Minister drew attention to the promising technological direction in the agricultural industry, namely the use of liquid complex fertilizers. Plant absorption of nutrients applied in liquid form, especially hard-to-reach phosphorus and potassium, reaches up to 80 percent, while when applied in solid form - only about 20 percent is absorbed.

Zyabbarov told that last year agricultural organizations of the republic purchased 2 988 units of agricultural machinery and equipment for 12.9bn roubles.

The restoration of the entire complex of agricultural machinery will require 5.6 billion roubles, including 3 billion roubles for preparing equipment for spring field work and 2.6 billion roubles for the harvesting campaign.

Over the past year the total amount of funding for the state programme «Complex development of rural areas» amounted to 3 billion roubles. This year 5 billion roubles will be allocated for the implementation of this programme. Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the main task for today is to prepare for the upcoming sowing campaign - repairing equipment, purchasing seeds and fertilizers.
