Dmitriy Chernyshenko: The Games of the Future will show the whole world the technological and sports sovereignty of Russia

On 12 January, speaking at a meeting of the organizational committee on preparation and holding the international multi-sports tournament “The Game of the Future” which he held in videoconference mode with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnianov and the Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin , Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitriy Chernyshenko said that the event to be held in February 2024 for the first time in history will help to show the whole world the technological and sports sovereignty of Russia .

“The task set forth by President Vladimir Putin to the new competitions format is to attract as many young people and the world audience as possible and through new innovative kinds of sports to promote domestic technologies and our Russian values giving rise to a new international movement” he said and concluded: “I am sure that the Games of the Future will demonstrate the whole world that Russia is the leading technological and sports power.”

Oleg Matytsin told that the tournament preparation made it possible to form and develop a new kind of sports and told about phygital sports centers already opened in Kemerovo and Sevastopol and about 18 more centers to be opened all over the country including the one in Kazan. “Together with the Russian Ministries of Science and Education and of Education we are implementing educational programmes and implementing development of the new movement within the framework of international cooperation with CIS, BRICS and SCO countries. All this confirms the capacity of the phygital sports and opportunities for its further scaling up,” Oleg Matytsin emphasized.

Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We are down the final straight and all services and departments are in the state of operational preparedness for holding “The Games of the Future”. All timelines stated in the plan are met. Tatarstan has not once shown the whole world the highest level of preparation of international sports competitions. I assure you we will join all forces to hold the first in the history Games of the Future at the highest organizational level in Kazan.”
