On 27 December the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a session of the Russian State Council held in the Large Kremlin Palace in Moscow and dedicated to the issue of raising the role and prestige of a teacher and a mentor.
Before the session members of the State Council and those invited to it took part in the All-Russia charity action “Christmas Tree of wishes”, where in Vladimirskiy Hall Rustam Minnikhanov took several Christmas tree balls with wishes of a 15 year old girl Darina, a nine year old boy Yegor and a five year old boy Kamil, who live in the Volga federal district. The girl dreams of visiting the Exhibition of Economic Achievements of Russia and the boys – of a surprise gift from the Father Frost, and his brief interview to federal mass media, Rustam Minnikhanov said that he will fulfill all the wishes as soon as possible. He also answered questions from the press of how he will celebrate the New Year and about the main topic of the session, namely what measures are envisaged in Tatarstan for supporting teachers and mentors.
