On 23 December at a meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave a number of errands to officials of the republic and reminded that the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the coming 2024 as the Year of the Family.

Rustam Minnikhanov attached special attention to issues of safety during New Year celebration, saying: “Organization of mass events requires provision of safety measures. When doing this it is necessary to take into consideration possible terrorists’ threats and emergencies. During these days Heads of municipalities, enterprises and organizations must organize duties of responsible persons, provide clear coordination of work of all services and take under personal control implementation of safety requirements”.

He asked local power bodies, housing utilities organizations and other services to pay special attention during New Year celebrations as there is high risk of emergencies at this period, he said.

The Rais of the republic also emphasized that because of abrupt change of temperatures there is a risk of snow falling down from roofs of multi-apartment houses and other edifices and gave an errand to heads of municipalities, housing utilities organizations and regional Ministry of Transport and Road Economy to give a timely response to changes of the weather.

Having reminded about gas explosion in the settlement of Osinovo in Zelenodolsk region of the republic on 21 December, Rustam Minnikhanov gave an errand to raise awareness of the population concerning the correct use of gas equipment.

Tatarstan Deputy Internal Minister Aleksey Sokolov reported about measures taken to ensure order and public safety during New Year and Christmas celebrations and reminded that last year a number of municipalities gave rise to complains about fulfilling requirements related to mass event venues arrangements.
