Rustam Minnikhanov and Tatarstan Mufti Kamil Samigullin discuss results of the departing year and plans for 2024

On 11 December at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Mufti of the republic Kamil hazrat Samigullin , who is the Head of the regional Muslims Spiritual Board, discussed results of 2023 and plans of the Board for the coming 2024.

Thus the Mufti reminded that in 2023 the Board main work was aimed at strengthening inter-confessional concord, preservation of native language and Tatar-Muslim traditions and charity. Kamil hazrat specially mentioned that the Board took active part in supporting the mobilized and civil population in the special military operation (SMO) zone. The Mufti himself visited Mariupol and talked to local Muslims, the Board collected and sent four humanitarian freight batches to the mobilized to the SMO and organized 4 business trips to the military unit in Lugansk region, where there are mobilized from Tatarstan.

The Mufti also told about events organized in the sphere of youth policy, book publishing and promotion of the halal life style.

Speaking about strengthening inter-ethnic concord and stability in the society, Kamil Samigullin informed that at his meeting with the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in the current year they discussed importance of preservation of inter-religious and inter-ethnic peace and mutual understanding and the Patriarch gave high appreciation to traditions of good-neighborly relations characteristic of Tatarstan and its multi-ethnic population.

The Mufti also informed Rustam Minnikhanov about events dedicated to the Year of National Cultures and Traditions and the Memory Day held in all mosques of the republic, including Kul Sharif, where more than 100 believers took part in the prayer.

Telling about plans for 2024, Kamil Samigullin informed that the main plans were to take part in the experiment of introducing Islamic finances, events of the Year of the Family, the Year of Islamic Sciences and IT-technologies and the Halal life style Year.

In 2024 it is also planned to organize and hold the regional iftar under the auspices and brand of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic World” with participation of foreign guests and to continue work in supporting the mobilized to the SMO and their families, the Mufti said.
