Address from Rustam Minnikhanov dedicated to the International Anti-corruption Day

09.12.2023

On 9 December in his address on the occasion of the International Anti-corruption Day, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov wrote: “The International Anti-corruption Day is celebrated every year on 9 December. In Russia fight against corruption is the most important state task. All levels and branches of power have anticorruption tasks set forth for them and they are priority both in legislative and law-enforcement work.

Tatarstan carries our enormous work in this sphere, implementing measures in providing openness and transparency of state and local self-government power bodies. Digitalization, in particular regional systems of electronic information interaction of the population with the power bodies for providing public services, facilitates substantial decrease of corruption

It goes without saying that anticorruption is comprehensive and systemic work, which does not result only in actions of law-enforcement bodies. It is extremely important to continue work for raising anticorruption awareness in society. Zero tolerance to corruption must be developed from the early childhood – first in the family and later at school and universities.

I am sure that active zero tolerance of the community to corruption, personal involvement and understanding of personal responsibility for positive transformation in the country are the key of the successful development of Russia.”
