On December 5, at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Mayor of Ankara (the Republic of Turkey) Mansur Yavaş discussed issues of developing and strengthening existing relations, building up business contacts and connections in various areas.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Ankara for its attention to the development of Tatarstan as one of the regions of Russia. He emphasized that Tatarstan is making its contribution to strengthening Russian-Turkish relations. “We value good relations between our fraternal peoples. Trade turnover is growing both between Turkey and Russia, and at the interregional level. Trade turnover between Turkey and Tatarstan doubled at the end of last year, and this year it also has positive dynamics,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. Rais of Tatarstan wished the Mayor of Ankara Mansur Yavas a fruitful stay in Tatarstan. Mansur Yavas left a note in the Book of Honorary Guests.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the meeting. Ankara and Kazan are sister cities.
