On 2 December the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov came on a working trip to Moscow to take part in events of the International Exhibition-Forum Russia held from 4 November 2023 to 12 April 2024 and the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan held within the framework of the forum on 2 November, where expositions of the republic demonstrate substantial achievements of the region in industry, agriculture, economy, medicine, culture and tourism.
Welcoming guests of the expositions, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Today it is a great honor for us to represent Tatarstan-one of the basic regions of the Russian Federation. All we are doing and all we have is due to the policy persuaded by our President Vladimir Putin.”
Having emphasized the huge support of the Russian Government given to the republic, he concluded: “I am not going to speak much as we have more than 50 events today. I thank every one of you for being together with us.”
Speaking at the ceremonial opening of the Day of Tatarstan, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that the republic can be really named the territory of advanced economic development.
“This land is rich in natural resources, unique historical cultural heritage and its main wealth - people. Traditionally Tatarstan shows high results in all branches of economy. And I would like to especially mention construction. For example, more than 3m square meters of housing have been already commissioned in the current year,” he said.
“And of course we are all looking forward to opening of the new speed highway M-12 “The East” which will go to Vladivostok and connect our whole country. This route is named “Russia” and that is why it is a landmark event,” Marat Khusnullin concluded and thanked the administration of Tatarstan for a substantial contribution into the achievements of national goals set forward by Vladimir Putin.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Russian Minister of Construction and Housing Utilities Sector Irek Fayzullin wished the Rais of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov and his team further successes and implementation of all future plans.
Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin, who also took part in the ceremony, reminded about sports achievements of Tatarstan in Russia and abroad. “Kazan and Tatarstan are flag ships of Russian and international sports. And of course all this is based on people, human capital which keeps showing innovations and creativity. And we are proud of Tatarstan achievements,” he said and reminded about the Games of the Future to be held in Kazan in 2024.
The agenda of the Day of Tatarstan includes showing video about social and economic potential of the region and its investments opportunities, lectures on Islamic finances, Tatar national costume and other topics and a concert of leading music ensembles and artists from the republic.
