On 28 November, speaking at his meeting with heads of Uzbekistan regional Chambers of Commerce in the Government House of the republic in Kazan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Your visit to Tatarstan is a remarkable opportunity to establish new contacts aimed at development of Tatarstan-Uzbekistan cooperation within the framework of friendly relations between Russia and Uzbekistan.”
He emphasized that today the cooperation between two republics is going through a new stage of development. “We highly appreciate an opportunity for broadening interaction with Uzbekistan and regions of your country. Historically it has always been like this but today is a special period in development of our relations. We are grateful to heads of our states Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev for their support in cooperation at a regional level,” the Rais of the republic said.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that recently there was the first visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tatarstan. “The visit was rather fruitful as there was a forum on interregional cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in Kazan. I am sure this will facilitate our further joint projects,” he concluded.
The participants of the meeting also discussed promising spheres of cooperation in a number of branches of economy. Earlier the heads of Uzbekistan regional Chambers of Commerce visited the Special Economic Zone of Alabuga, the TANEKO Refinery Company and the Khimgrad industrial complex.
