On 21 November, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Road Economy Farit Khanifov informed that in the current year road work, which comprises repairs, reconstruction and construction of regional and federal highways, has been fulfilled for more than 210bn rubles in the republic.
“2023 has been good for us, we have been working actively. This year the amount of the work fulfilled is slightly more than that last year. We are completing construction of the M-12 speed highway and have completed the reconstruction of M-7 sections. We also have built the detour of Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnyye Chelny and have fulfilled 26bn rubles of federal highways repairs and reconstruction work,” the Minister said.
As many as 81.1bn rubles has been spent for regional programmes, including 24.3bn allocated from the federal budget and 1.3bn from the municipal road fund. In total the cost of road work fulfilled can reach 217bn rubles by the end of the year, Farit Khanifov concluded and also informed about work planned for the next year.
The Deputy Board Chairman of the Avtodor State Company Gennadiy Zhilin, who also took part in the briefing, told that the largest project under implementation in Tatarstan is the construction of the seventh and eighth sections of the M-12 speed highway, the traffic on which is planned to be launched in current December. He also informed about traffic security measures which have been used during the highway construction such as bright lighting and metallic crash barriers.
