Rais of Tatarstan: Additive technologies can make a substantial contribution into providing technological sovereignty of the country

On 20 November, speaking at the V leader-forum “Additive technologies is a new reality” held at the Bashir Rameev IT Park in Kazan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that additive technologies can radically improve many aspects of our lives and make a substantial contribution into providing technological sovereignty of the country. 

The forum is the main Russian platform uniting latest achievements in the sphere of additive technologies, of leading experts in the branch and representatives of innovative companies, which is held from 20 to 21 November with participation of more than 2 500 people, 15 leading universities of Russia and more than 120 enterprises. 

At the topical exhibition the Rais of the republic got acquainted with the latest domestic 3D printing technologies and printed samples also displayed by Tatarstan developers from Kazan Aircraft University, regional Digital Transformation Center and other organizations. 

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that due to a unique combination of powerful industrial base and developed research, educational and technological complexes the republic has always been in the vanguard of the transition to a new technological wave based on additive productions. “Tatarstan is the first among entities of the Volga Federal Districts and the fifth in Russia in industrial and agricultural production. Despite sanctions, the economy of the region showed the growth in 2022,” he said.

The Rais of the republic mentioned that commercialization of developments and research in Tatarstan is carried out by a developed regional system for innovations facilitation and informed that 442 science consuming projects of students of the republic has been named winners of the federal “The Students Startup” competition.

He emphasized that today additive technologies are rapidly developing all over the world, actively penetrating into machine-building, construction, petrochemical industry, healthcare and many other branches of economy.

“These technologies make it possible not just improve characteristics of already existing products but also to create principally new constructions which is impossible to manufacture by any other ways,” he said and thanked organizers of the forum for choosing Kazan as a venue for holding such an important event. “Tatarstan will not only be an active consumer of additive technologies products, but is also ready to play a role of a key ideas generator. And here we are interested in the most profound cooperation with the leader of the branch – the ROSATOM State Corporation,” Rustam Minnikhanov concluded.
