On November 11, at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpischev discussed the issues of developing tennis in the republic, improving the infrastructure of tennis sports and organizing various competitions.
Today in Tatarstan, 3.5 thousand people play tennis. There are four tennis departments in the republic's sports schools, namely, in the cities of Kazan, Almetyevsk, Yelabuga, Naberezhnye Chelny, where 299 people are engaged in the training process carried out by 16 coaches. In 2023, 22 athletes are members of the Russian national team from Tatarstan.
This week Kazan hosted the opening night of a documentary “Captain Tarpschev life peak” based on the biography of the President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpischev and dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Russia winning the Davis Cup in 2002.
